Abelardo Diaz-Dumol was born on January 10, 1931 in Barangay Cadio, Panitan, Capiz. He was the 4th child among  8 siblings, his parents were Constancia and Liborio Dumol. Their life in Cadio was very peaceful and secure before World War 2. The family owned rice land that provided the major resource of the village. They also managed rice trading from two municipalities to Iloilo via the Philippine Railway.
